Vuzix and TCL CSOT Expand Partnership for Smart Glasses Development

Vuzix Corporation, a leading provider of augmented reality wearable display and computing devices, has expanded its collaboration with TCL CSOT to develop optical products for the smart glasses industry. The partnership aims to leverage each company's strengths and expertise to create innovative products that enhance user experience and drive growth in the AR market.

Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ: VUZI), a leading supplier of AI-powered smart glasses, waveguides, and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies, has expanded its collaboration with TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT) to deliver advanced optical solutions for the smart glasses industry. The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to create innovative products that enhance user experience and drive growth in the AR market.

The collaboration, announced on September 23, 2025, involves the integration of microLED displays and waveguide optics to deliver integration-friendly, scalable, and cost-effective optical solutions. Vuzix's waveguides combine high transparency with minimal forward light leakage, providing superior image quality and a rainbow-free viewing experience. These ultra-compact, bright, and cost-effective optical solutions are powered by TCL CSOT's industry-leading microLED microdisplay technology.

The initial configuration, which successfully integrated mono-green microLED engines with Vuzix waveguides, was showcased at the China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) in Shenzhen from September 10–12, 2025. This rapid, off-the-shelf optical solution has been validated for ODM/OEM customers. Additionally, Vuzix and TCL CSOT are actively co-developing a full-color microLED and waveguide optical solution, with a planned release in early 2026.

The joint solution debuted at the CIOE, allowing industrial OEM/ODM leaders to experience the combined capabilities of Vuzix waveguides and TCL CSOT microLED engines first-hand. This highlights the performance and production readiness of the next-generation AR optical solution.

TCL CSOT, established in 2009, is a leading semiconductor display company with a focus on next-generation display technologies such as Mini LED, Micro LED, OLED, and inkjet-printed OLED. The company's extensive production capabilities and investment in technology innovation position it as a key partner for Vuzix in driving the AR market forward.
