IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of voco Bangkok Siam, a 350-key new-build hotel set to open in 2029. The hotel will be located in the heart of Bangkok, opposite Siam Discovery Shopping Center, and within walking distance of other major landmarks such as Siam Square, MBK Center, and the BTS Siam station [2].
This expansion marks a significant milestone for IHG's fastest-growing premium brand, voco, which currently has a global portfolio of 107 open hotels across 25 countries and 102 pipeline properties [2]. The hotel will join IHG's diverse portfolio in Thailand, which includes brands such as Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Vignette Collection, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites [1].
voco Bangkok Siam will stand out from the crowd on the city skyline, providing guests with memorable stays aligned to the consistently thoughtful and distinctive experiences of IHG's voco brand. The hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, gym, rooftop pool with views of Bangkok's skyline, and meeting room facilities. It will also offer easy access to some of the world's best retail malls, restaurants, bars, events, and live entertainment [2].
The signing of voco Bangkok Siam is part of IHG's commitment to growing voco in Southeast Asia and around the world. The brand's debut in Thailand with voco Bangkok Surawong, and properties in destinations such as Nha Trang, Vietnam, are set to follow this year [2].
IHG's Managing Director, South East Asia & Korea, Vivek Bhalla, said, "Thailand continues to enhance its reputation as a world-class destination offering something for everyone. At IHG, we are committed to working with our industry partners and ownership groups to strengthen the tourism ecosystem by introducing new, differentiated, and memorable stay experiences for our guests to enjoy." Nuttaphong Kunakornwong, Chief Executive Officer, SC Asset Public Company Limited, added, "Bangkok was the world’s most-visited city in 2024 with 32.4 million international arrivals boosting its tourism industry alongside increases in short-haul and intra-regional travel – and it’s set to maintain its momentum with both business and leisure travelers" [2].
