Payment giant Visa (V.US) has partnered with cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase (COIN.US), allowing Visa customers with eligible debit cards to deposit funds into their Coinbase accounts (sometimes instantly).

Coinbase has reportedly connected with millions of customers' debit cards, but the latest partnership with Visa allows customers in the US and EU to move money in real-time. Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, head of Visa Direct North America, said eligible Visa debit card holders can now "take advantage of trading opportunities around the clock." Visa also said customers can buy cryptocurrency on Coinbase using eligible debit cards and withdraw funds from the platform to their bank accounts.

The digital asset industry has often struggled to use traditional banking and payment channels due to concerns about market volatility and industry scandals. However, crypto regulation is becoming clearer around the world, which may ease some of the challenges facing the crypto industry.
