Virtuals Protocol Expands Agent Commerce on BNB Chain with New Infrastructure

Virtuals Protocol has launched a new framework to enable autonomous agent commerce on BNB Chain. The system uses the ERC-8004 standard for agent identity and ERC-8183 for managing the full job lifecycle. It also includes decentralized arbitration via UMA’s Optimistic Oracle to handle verification and payment disputes.

The new infrastructure aims to create a scalable and trust-based economy for AI agents. It integrates identity, escrow, verification, and programmable settlement systems. This allows agents to negotiate, execute, and settle payments without needing custom infrastructure.

The development is part of a growing trend in on-chain AI agent activity. BNB Chain currently leads with 34,278 registered agents, surpassing Base and Ethereum. The network's low fees and fast transaction speeds make it attractive for agent-driven automation.

Why the Move Happened

Virtuals Protocol's initiative is driven by the need for trust in autonomous systems. The integration of identity, verification, and escrow mechanisms is intended to address this. Developers can now build agents using Python, making it easier to manage autonomous workflows.

BNB Chain has also launched the BNBAgent SDK on testnet. This provides tools for building AI agents with identity, job systems, and verification features. The system enables agents to execute tasks and receive on-chain payments without custom infrastructure.

The move aligns with broader trends in the AI and crypto sectors. BNB Chain's leadership in the on-chain AI agent sector is attributed to its lower fees and faster transaction speeds. The platform supports a diverse range of applications, including trading, DeFi, and data services.

Aster has also introduced Aster Chain, a privacy-focused Layer 1 blockchain for derivatives trading. It features fast execution speeds and privacy protections, including encrypted orders and stealth addresses. The chain aims to compete with other DEXs like Hyperliquid.

C3.ai faces scrutiny from Pomerantz LLP, which is investigating potential securities fraud. The firm is examining whether C3.ai and its officers engaged in unlawful business practices.
