Viking has announced its first river voyages in India on the new 80-guest Viking Brahmaputra. The ship will debut in late 2027 and sail between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat, offering a 15-day itinerary called Wonders of India. The vessel features Scandinavian design with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and verandas, as well as amenities such as a restaurant with river views, open-air Sky Bar, and Spa & Fitness Center.
Viking, a leading global travel company, has announced its first river voyages in India, set to debut in late 2027 on the new 80-guest Viking Brahmaputra. The ship will sail between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in the northeastern state of Assam, offering a 15-day itinerary called "Wonders of India" [1].
The Viking Brahmaputra is currently under construction and is scheduled to debut in late 2027. The vessel will feature Viking's signature Scandinavian design, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and verandas. It will also offer a range of amenities, including a restaurant with river views, an open-air Sky Bar on the Upper Deck, and a Spa & Fitness Center [1].
The "Wonders of India" itinerary will operate roundtrip from Delhi, with hotel stays in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur bracketing an eight-day Brahmaputra River voyage. The itinerary includes 13 included tours, allowing guests to experience as many as 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites [1].
Viking is also offering a variety of new pre and post land extensions for the "Wonders of India" itinerary, including Delhi (two nights), Dubai (three nights; fully guided), Kathmandu (four nights; fully guided), and Cochin & Mumbai (five nights; fully guided) [1].
From now through July 31, 2025, Viking is offering North American travelers savings of up to $5,000 per couple plus airfare from $999, with a $25 deposit, on the "Wonders of India" itinerary [1].
