The Vanguard Australian Shares ETF (VAS) now has a rival, the Global X Australia 300 ETF (A300), which tracks the FTSE Australia 300 Index. Both ETFs offer exposure to the largest 300 ASX stocks weighted by market capitalization, but A300 is newer and has lower assets under management ($9m vs VAS's $22.6bn). A300 also undercuts VAS on fees, with an expense ratio of 0.37% compared to VAS's 0.14%.
