The cost of one redeemed Epic Friend Ticket can be applied toward an eligible 2026/27 Epic Pass. Pass prices will increase after September 1.

Vail Resorts (NYSE: MTN) has announced a new benefit for 2025/26 season-long Epic Pass holders, aiming to enhance the social experience of skiing and snowboarding. The introduction of "Epic Friend Tickets" allows pass holders to share significant savings with friends and family. Pass holders will receive 6 to 10 Epic Friend Tickets, providing a 50% discount on lift tickets at Vail Resorts' 37 North American resorts for the 2025/26 winter season. Additionally, friends can apply the cost of one redeemed Epic Friend Ticket toward an eligible 2026/27 Epic Pass, offering double the savings [1].

The initiative replaces the former Buddy Tickets benefit, which offered lower savings. Epic Friend Tickets can be used at all of Vail Resorts' North American resorts, including major destinations like Vail Mountain and Whistler Blackcomb, as well as regional and local ski areas. The tickets can be redeemed through EpicPass.com and activated in the My Epic app for direct-to-lift access [1].

The new benefit is designed to encourage more people to experience the joy of skiing and snowboarding. "Skiers and snowboarders know this sport is magic; a passion you can't help but pass on," said Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz. "If you ski or ride, chances are someone brought you into the sport, and we want to make it easier for you to pay it forward" [1].

Vail Resorts also announced that the 2025/26 Epic Pass prices will increase after September 1. The current prices are $1,075 for adults and $548 for children. The Epic Local Pass is priced at $799 for adults, while the Epic Military Pass starts at $190 for active and retired military [1].

The introduction of Epic Friend Tickets is part of Vail Resorts' ongoing efforts to make skiing more accessible and enjoyable for a broader audience. The company aims to inspire traditions that will bring friends back to the mountains for years to come [1].
