Upbit Lists Nexpace Token, Boosting Gaming Crypto Trend

South Korea’s largest crypto exchange, Upbit, has announced its upcoming listing of Nexpace (NXPC), a token tied to the MapleStory Universe. This move is part of Upbit’s strategy to embrace gaming-oriented digital assets, particularly those with multi-chain capabilities. The listing will include trading pairs for Korean Won (KRW), Bitcoin (BTC), and Tether (USDT).

Nexpace (NXPC) is the native token of Henesys L1, a Layer 1 blockchain developed to power the MapleStory Universe, a metaverse extension of the iconic MMORPG MapleStory by South Korean game giant NEXON. NXPC serves multiple functions within the Henesys ecosystem, including payment of gas fees, minting and trading NFTs tied to in-game assets, reward distribution for user-generated content and in-game activities, and conversion to NESO, a companion utility token within the MapleStory blockchain framework. The token’s multi-chain compatibility via Avalanche C-Chain suggests it is built for scalability and cross-ecosystem functionality, providing real utility within an actual gaming economy.

To maintain market integrity and avoid volatility, Upbit has imposed several trading limitations upon launch. No buy orders will be allowed during the first 5 minutes post-launch, and only limit orders will be accepted for the first 2 hours. The minimum sell price will be announced separately by the exchange. Upbit has also stated that NXPC deposits and withdrawals will only be supported on the Avalanche C-Chain network, aligning with its strict compliance protocols, especially under South Korea’s updated crypto travel rule requirements.

Upbit’s choice to offer NXPC early could be seen as a calculated effort to establish itself as a preferred exchange for next-generation gaming tokens.
