Upbit's GRVT Listing Hits a Thin, Hype-Driven Token While South Korean Flows Turn Back On

Upbit adds KRW, BTC, and USDT access just as GRVT enters live trading
Upbit is adding GRVT trading support in KRW, BTC, and USDT markets today at 17:00 KST for GRVT trading. For this token, that matters because Upbit typically brings a different kind of demand-more focus on cash flow and trading volume than on pure narrative.
The timing is the bigger story. GRVT only began trading after its July 30 listing on major exchanges, and it entered price discovery with just 11.43% circulating supply. That is a relatively thin float, which can lead to fast repricing on the way up-but also quick distribution if sellers find a liquid exit.
With Upbit's opening, the token moves from "coming soon" to an active test of demand. The bullish view is that Upbit adds fresh buying interest, especially from KRW-side participants who may have missed the first phase of trading. The bearish view is that low float can get absorbed by selling faster than by durable demand.
What to watch
- Opening book vs. actual trades: whether Upbit adds real depth or mainly attention.
- KRW pair behavior: whether local demand is genuine or mostly momentum-driven.
- Early selling pressure: low-float launches often see one sharp turnover before a clearer trend emerges.
GRVT is already spread across many venues, so August is about order flow
GRVT was already live across Binance Wallet, Coinbase Markets, OKX, Bybit, MEXC, KuCoin, Bitget, LBank after its July 30 launch. That means this is no longer a "will it get listed?" story. It is now about which venue captures the most marginal trading activity in August.
Leverage and incentives are still pushing activity
Binance Wallet has added another layer: GRVT is live on Binance Wallet Perpetuals with up to 5x leverage, alongside a $200K reward campaign tied to Alpha trading activity. That combination can encourage more active trading, but reward-driven volume can fade just as quickly.

Bybit is also keeping the promotional push going. Its GRVT Token Splash offers a 2,500,000 GRVT prize pool across deposit and trading events, running until Aug. 12, and it is being targeted in the Mandarin, South Korea, and Southeast Asia markets. That gives GRVT a broader promotional window than a single launch day.
Why Upbit still matters
Upbit does not change the launch story by itself. It adds another flow channel. Trading support opens today at 17:00 KST in KRW, BTC, and USDT markets. If other venues are creating activity through leverage and campaigns, Upbit can still capture a portion of South Korean retail demand, which often reacts quickly to momentum.
The main watchpoint is simple: with so many venues active at once and a thin circulating float, August should show whether GRVT is building repeatable demand or just rotating through early sellers.
