Unum Group Assigns Issue Credit Rating to New Senior Unsecured Notes

AM Best has assigned a Long-Term Issue Credit Rating of "bbb+" (Good) to Unum Group's $300 million of 5.250% senior unsecured notes due Dec. 15, 2035. The rating considers the financial leverage, earnings coverage, and debt servicing profile of Unum's principal insurance subsidiaries. The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and repayment of outstanding senior unsecured notes that matured on Nov. 5, 2025.
