United Airlines has been directed by the FAA and DOT to reduce its schedules during the government shutdown, impacting 40 domestic airports. The airline will focus on reducing regional flying and domestic mainline flights that do not travel between hubs. Customers traveling during this period can request refunds, even if their flight isn't impacted. United will still offer around 4,000 flights per day, with more seats available due to the early November timing.
