The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is seeking AI startups to participate in the Kalaa Setu and Bhasha Setu challenges on the WaveX startup accelerator platform to develop solutions for bridging linguistic divides. The final shortlisted startups will receive an MoU for full-scale development, pilot support, and incubation. The goal is to ensure inclusive communication and last-mile information delivery in every language across the country.

The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has called upon AI startups to participate in the Kalaa Setu and Bhasha Setu challenges on the WaveX startup accelerator platform. The initiative aims to develop indigenous, scalable solutions to bridge linguistic divides and ensure inclusive communication across the country [1].

Chairing a meeting of startups and incubators at T-Hub in Hyderabad on Thursday, I&B Secretary Sanjay Jaju emphasized the importance of AI-based solutions in addressing the challenges of linguistic diversity. The challenges, available on the WaveX platform, invite startups to develop innovative solutions that reflect India's linguistic and cultural diversity [1].

The final shortlisted startups will have the opportunity to present their solutions to a national jury in New Delhi. The winning startup will receive a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for full-scale development, pilot support from All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan (DD), and the Press Information Bureau (PIB), and incubation under the WaveX Innovation Platform [1].

The goal of these challenges is to ensure that information delivery is inclusive and reaches every language across the country. The initiatives are aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of fostering a creator economy in India [1].
