Ubisoft is reviving its classic fantasy franchise, Might & Magic, with a new mobile trading card game (TCG) titled Might & Magic: Fates. Developed in collaboration with Web3 gaming platform Immutable, the game aims to modernize the franchise for mobile audiences while integrating digital asset ownership through blockchain technology.

Might & Magic: Fates is set to launch on iOS and Android platforms, inviting players into a tactical world built around customizable decks, iconic fantasy creatures, and faction-based mechanics. Players will be able to collect, trade, and strategize with hundreds of cards, earning rewards based on in-game progression and skill. The game emphasizes staying true to the franchise’s roots while embracing new formats, continuing Ubisoft’s exploration of digital ownership and blockchain utility in gaming.

Ubisoft, known for major franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, has been gradually entering the space of digital ownership and blockchain through its Strategic Innovation Lab. Might & Magic: Fates is positioned as a franchise milestone, using modern tools to reach the next generation of players. Nicolas Pouard, Vice President of Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovation Lab, highlighted that the game will deliver a deep and rewarding experience for both long-time fans and new players alike.

Immutable, the studio behind Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians, is providing the underlying blockchain infrastructure. Through its technology, players will be able to securely own and trade in-game assets without compromising gameplay speed or accessibility. Immutable Chief Studio Officer Justin Hulog stated that Ubisoft’s vision for Might & Magic: Fates aligns perfectly with their mission to enhance game ownership and player engagement, pushing the boundaries of what AAA franchises can achieve in the Web3 space.

The launch of Might & Magic: Fates is seen as a significant milestone in the fusion of traditional gaming and blockchain innovation. Additional gameplay footage and pre-registration details will be revealed in the coming months, with more information scheduled to be unveiled at a joint appearance on May 1.
