Turkish Airlines Orders 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Boosting Boeing's Market Position

Boeing (BA.US) has secured a historic order from Turkish Airlines, marking the largest wide-body aircraft order in the airline's history. The order includes up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, comprising 35 787-9 models, 15 787-10 models, and options for an additional 25 Dreamliner aircraft. The deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2029 and 2034. The latest announcement follows a meeting between the U.S. President and the Turkish President in Washington. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, but large aircraft orders typically come with substantial discounts.

In addition to the Turkish Airlines order, Boeing has also received an additional order from Norwegian Air Shuttle. The airline has exercised its option to purchase 30 more 737 MAX 8 aircraft, bringing the total confirmed order from a 2022 agreement to 80 aircraft. The final delivery is now scheduled for 2031, following adjustments to the delivery timeline. This order further strengthens Boeing's market position and underscores the confidence airlines have in the company's products.
