Tuniu Tourism: The booking volume of traditional culture tours during the Mid-Autumn Festival has increased significantly under the influence of cultural IPs such as "Black Myth: Sun Wukong"

Tuniu.com published an article saying that theme parks, leisure and cultural tourism products related to traditional culture are hot on Tuniu's platform during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The cultural IPs such as "Black Myth: Sun Wukong" have a lasting impact, making destinations such as Taiyuan, Datong, Dunhuang and others more popular. The related destinations' "Hukou Waterfall-Hanging Temple- Pingyao- Wutai Shan- Yunlong 7-day tour" and "Qinghai Lake-Tal Temple-Chaika-Dunhuang 8-day tour" and other group tours and private tours have seen a significant increase in bookings.

According to the latest booking data from Tuniu, the tourism market still maintains a high level of heat in the first week of September under the influence of the summer heat. There will be a small peak of post-summer off-season travel from September 8 to 12. From September 13, the vitality of the tourism market will be released in advance, and the outbound travel heat will grow rapidly and reach a peak during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In terms of the distribution of source markets, users from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, Tianjin, and Shenyang show a stronger outbound travel demand and are listed in the top of Tuniu's "popular source markets for the Mid-Autumn Festival". Families with 2-4 members traveling together are more popular.

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival falls between the summer and National Day holidays. Many users have already experienced "poetry and distance" in the summer or plan to start a long journey in the National Day. Therefore, this Mid-Autumn Festival features short trips around the city, with long-distance trips as a supplement. About 40% of users choose to travel short distances in the local, suburban areas or neighboring cities. Among the popular destinations for short trips, cities within 1-2 hours' drive or high-speed rail in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Shandong, Beijing, and Hebei are popular choices.

The domestic long-distance travel market maintains the summer's heat and shows a high level of heat, accounting for 35% of the outbound travel. Among them, Sanya, Beijing, Guilin, Chengdu, Xiamen, Chongqing, Lijiang, Zhangjiajie, Dali, and Aletai attract more long-distance travel users' attention.

As for outbound travel, Japan, Maldives, Thailand, and Indonesia are still popular short-distance outbound destinations. New Zealand, Turkey, and Spain-Portugal are among the most popular long-distance outbound travel destinations for Tuniu users.
