RTX Corp. and Rafael have won a $1.25 billion contract to build surface-to-air missiles for Israel's Iron Dome system at a new plant in Arkansas. The joint venture, established in 2020, will produce Tamir interceptors and SkyHunter missiles in the US. The Camden facility, opened this month, is the first all-up round production facility in the US to manufacture these missiles. The contract supports the acceleration of Iron Dome interceptors for the Israeli government and the Marine Corps' Medium-Range Intercept Capability program.
