Trump Promises To Halve The Energy Price If Elected, Takes Another Swipe at Kamala Harris in Fiery Speech

On Wednesday, Trump attempted to paint a bleak outlook for the U.S. economy and blamed it on his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, launching a series of policy attacks against her.

Compared to other recent campaign events, Trump spoke more extensively about policy when addressing supporters in Asheville, North Carolina, on Wednesday. Still, he definitely does forge attacking those of Harris.

Trump stated that if he defeats Harris, he would open up federal lands for drilling, simplify pipeline permitting processes, and take other measures aimed at reducing prices.

He also promised to halve energy and electricity prices within 12 to 18 months of taking office. He did not specify how he would achieve this but reiterated his previous commitment to bringing more oil production online, including in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, where the Biden administration has stopped issuing new drilling permits.

He accused Harris of supporting a ban on hydraulic fracturing, a common method of shale oil extraction, and said her position would be a big problem for Pennsylvania, a key swing state where hydraulic fracturing is widely used.

It should be noted that Trump's accusations around the hydraulic fracturing ban against Harris were one-sided. Although Harris called for a ban on hydraulic fracturing during her 2019 presidential campaign, her campaign team has recently started a new position—she no longer supports a ban on hydraulic fracturing.

Trump also reiterated his recent proposal to eliminate taxes on tips and Social Security income.

Harris will also travel to North Carolina later this week to deliver an economic policy speech in Raleigh. A campaign official said she wwouldoutline a plan to reduce costs for middle-class families and combat corporate price fraud.

According to the average data from the political polling aggregation website Real Clear Politics, Trump currently has a slight lead in North Carolina, almost neck and neck with Harris. This is significantly different from a month ago when Trump's approval ratings in the state were far ahead of Biden's.

Despite Trump's attempt to focus on policy, he, known for his unfiltered remarks, still deviated from the script.

He avoided fierce attacks on Harris's racial identity, but he still couldn't resist personal attacks on Harris, once calling her not smart, and belittling her laughter as a cackle, saying It's the laugh of a crazy person.

Since Biden dropped out of the re-election race and Harris became the Democratic candidate, the U.S. campaign landscape has dramatically changed. The gap between Harris and Trump in the polls is narrowing, causing Trump's original lead to vanish.

Faced with the formidable Harris, Trump responded with humiliation to weaken her support rates. Harris's identity, appearance, and intelligence have all become targets of Trump's criticism.

Some allies, donors, and advisors are concerned about Trump's attacks on Harris and have advised him to focus on the failed policies Harris has implemented during her tenure. They believe that humiliating Harris will only be detrimental to Trump's campaign activities.
