Trump Enters Metaverse: Virtual Apparel, Dining, and NFTs on the Horizon
The Trump Organization has filed a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office, signaling a potential expansion into the metaverse and NFTs space. The application, submitted under DTTM Operations, outlines plans for a digital ecosystem that would enable users to purchase and wear virtual TRUMP-branded apparel, as well as experience simulated dining in virtual TRUMP restaurants.
The digital marketplace would exclusively feature content authorized by Donald Trump and authenticated through NFTs. The trademark application was filed on an "intent to use" basis, indicating the planned future deployment of these virtual services and digital assets.
During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump pledged to establish the US as a global crypto innovation hub and criticized the Biden administration's regulatory approach as overly restrictive. In January 2024, Bitcoin Ordinals were inscribed for buyers of Trump's 'Mugshot Edition' NFTs, which offer exclusive perks including dinner with Trump, as part of his digital collectibles strategy.
