Trump Brothers Deny Involvement in Magic Eden Wallet Project

Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have both denied any involvement in the development of Magic Eden’s “Trump Wallet.” The denial comes after Magic Eden announced on June 3 that it was developing a new Trump wallet and shared a landing page with a public waitlist. The page promoted $1 million in TRUMP memecoin payouts through a referral-based promotion that runs until July 4.

The website described the project as “the first and only crypto wallet for true fans” of President Donald Trump and listed NFT marketplace Magic Eden and trading app Slingshot Finance as partners. However, Donald Trump Jr. took to social media to clarify that “The Trump Organization has zero involvement with this wallet product.” He further stated that neither he nor his brother Eric Trump knew anything about the project and that they are only working with World Liberty Financial, which is developing a separate wallet that has yet to be launched.

Eric Trump, who oversees the Trump Organization, also posted a message stating, “I run Trump [Organization] and I know nothing about this project!” This denial from both brothers underscores the lack of involvement from the Trump Organization in the development of the “Trump Wallet” by Magic Eden.

Magic Eden, in response to the denials, reiterated the partnership in multiple company feeds, which raised concerns about the company’s social media accounts potentially being hacked. However, Magic Eden business lead Liz A, known as “Voh” on social media, confirmed that the firm’s accounts were not compromised and emphasized that the announcement was legitimate. The NFT marketplace’s head of community, Cole McMillian, known as “Papi,” also addressed the situation on Magic Eden’s Discord server, stating, “This is like… The most legal scrutiny we will ever have. So just need to be careful about responses.”

Despite the denials and the reassurances from Magic Eden, neither Magic Eden nor Slingshot has published technical details covering custody, supported blockchains, or geographic restrictions. This lack of transparency adds to the confusion surrounding the project and its legitimacy. The situation highlights the complexities and potential risks associated with cryptocurrency and NFT projects, especially when high-profile figures are involved.
