Troubadour Resources Inc. (TSXV:TR) has announced a significant 5,000 metre diamond drill program at its Senneville Gold-Copper Project, located in the eastern Val d'Or district. The program, set to commence in mid-November, aims to test the continuity of mineralization within the principal 11-kilometre trend of mineral occurrences associated with the contacts of a prominent komatiite unit, hereafter referred to as the Senneville Komatiite.
The drill program will be split across two targets to explore the gold and copper potential of the property. Target 1, a 2,000-metre drill program, will focus on near-surface targets at the Gustave-Cere gold showing. High-grade gold is hosted in quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins that bear similarities to the gold-bearing veins of the neighbouring Novador deposits. The planned drilling will infill gaps in pierce points at the Gustave-Cere gold showing and test for continuity of mineralization between gold-bearing drill holes along the hanging wall contact of the Senneville Komatiite.
Target 2, a 3,000-metre drill program, will test the VMS potential of the same principal trend. Zinc (Zn) and silver (Ag) occurrences were discovered in 2009 and 2023, respectively, in favourable volcanic stratigraphy for VMS formation. This target requires follow-up exploration to confirm the presence of VMS mineralization.
The Senneville Gold-Copper Project is strategically located within the prolific Val d'Or Mining Camp, between Probe Gold's McKenzie Break deposit to the north and the Probe's Novador Development Project to the south. The property comprises 230 mineral claims totalling over 130 km2, offering significant exploration potential. Troubadour's recent capital raise of $4,455,000 has positioned the company to accelerate its exploration efforts and deliver value to shareholders.
The upcoming drill program at the Senneville Gold-Copper Project is a testament to Troubadour's commitment to disciplined exploration and growth. By leveraging the work completed to date and systematically building a robust 3D model, Troubadour aims to uncover new high-grade gold and copper mineralization. The results of this drill program are expected to provide valuable insights into the project's potential and guide future exploration and development plans.
