TradePort Partners with Walrus for Enhanced NFT Storage

TradePort, a leading NFT marketplace operating across multiple blockchains, has announced its plans to utilize Walrus, a decentralized storage solution developed by Mysten Labs, to store metadata for all its NFT collections. This strategic partnership aims to enhance the security, scalability, and programmability of TradePort's NFT offerings.

Walrus Protocol, currently in its testing phase, specializes in handling large data files, from media content to documents. It uses the Sui blockchain as its coordination layer and offers robust storage capabilities for both traditional web and blockchain applications. The protocol is designed to efficiently process and store large files (blobs) with a focus on security, scalability, and programmability.

George Danezis, Chief Scientist and Co-Founder of Mysten Labs, commented on the potential of decentralized storage on a smart contract platform like Sui, stating, "Initially, decentralized storage may sound like a concept you’ve heard of before, but on a smart contract platform like Sui, storage is capable of logic and programmability, which is a complete game-changer."

Through this partnership, all information from TradePort’s NFT collections launched through their platform will be securely stored on Walrus, including the current NFT metadata. TradePort is set to become one of the pioneering partners in utilizing data storage on the upcoming Walrus Mainnet, which is poised for launch in the near future.
