Tower Semiconductor, a leading foundry of high-value analog semiconductor solutions, will present a joint white paper with pSemi at the International Microwave Symposium 2025. The paper highlights a record-breaking wideband single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch utilizing Tower's monolithically integrated PCM RF switches in an RFSOI CMOS process. The technology is nominated for the Best Industry Paper Award.
Tower Semiconductor, a leading foundry of high-value analog semiconductor solutions, has announced its participation in the upcoming International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2025, scheduled to take place from June 16 to 21 in San Francisco, California. The company will present a joint white paper with pSemi, titled "A Low-Loss, Wideband, 0–110 GHz SPDT Using PCM RF Switches with Integrated CMOS Drivers," which has been nominated for the Best Industry Paper Award at IMS 2025 [1].
The white paper showcases a record-breaking wideband single-pole, double-throw (SPDT) switch developed by Tower Semiconductor and pSemi. This technology utilizes Tower's monolithically integrated PCM RF switches in an RFSOI CMOS process. Key features of the technology include ultra-wideband performance, ranging from DC to 110 GHz with less than 2 dB of insertion loss, 30 dBm measured power handling, and 15-20 dB better linearity performance compared to existing RFSOI CMOS SPDTs [1].
The presentation, titled "A Low-Loss, Wideband, 0-110 GHz SPDT Using PCM RF Switches with Integrated CMOS Drivers," will be given by Dr. Nabil El-Hinnawy, Principal R&D Engineer at Tower Semiconductor, on June 19, 2025, at 8:20 AM, as part of the Th1B session: Innovative RF Switches, Varactor and Modulator Technologies [1]. The technology is expected to enable advanced circuits for 5G, future 6G, satellite communications (SatCom), beamforming, and millimeter-wave applications.
Tower Semiconductor focuses on creating a positive and sustainable impact on the world through long-term partnerships and its advanced and innovative analog technology offering, which includes a broad range of customizable process platforms such as SiGe, BiCMOS, mixed-signal/CMOS, RF CMOS, CMOS image sensor, non-imaging sensors, displays, integrated power management, photonics, and MEMS [2].
