Tiruchi Corporation Privatizes Karumandapam Crematorium Maintenance

The Tiruchi Corporation has outsourced the maintenance and operation of the Karumandapam crematorium to a private agency, which will collect ₹2,500 per cremation and pay ₹100 to the Corporation. The agency will be responsible for maintenance and repair of machinery and appoint four persons to run the facility. The Corporation will regularly inspect the crematorium to ensure proper maintenance. The initiative aims to address manpower shortages and complaints of additional fees being charged by workers.
