Timor-Leste AB Resort to Launch World's First National-Level Blockchain Theme Resort

AB DAO, in collaboration with the AB Charity Foundation, has announced the development of the world's first national-level blockchain theme resort in Timor-Leste. The resort, named Timor-Leste AB Resort, will span 300,000 square meters along the country's coastline and will integrate technology research and development, leisure, and entertainment. The project is set to be completed in four phases, with the first phase covering 26,000 square meters and expected to be finished within 18 months.

The resort aims to attract AI innovation teams, leading blockchain projects, industry-leading media outlets, blockchain research institutions, international conference brands, and scientific advisors from around the globe. It will host technology summits, academic seminars, and incubation programs, providing an ideal habitat and networking platform for blockchain professionals and digital nomads. The resort will benefit from Timor-Leste's superior island resources and supportive regulatory environment, securing exclusive stablecoin issuance, digital banking, and digital exchange licenses. This will enable the resort to build a comprehensive on-chain financial ecosystem, ensuring secure and seamless digital-asset transactions. Guests will be able to pay and exchange major cryptocurrencies on-site, with AB token holders enjoying exclusive discounts and priority reservations.

Bertie Ahern, Chair of the AB Charity Foundation and former Taoiseach of Ireland, highlighted the resort's potential to offer the global blockchain community an immersive environment for research, education, and lifestyle. He emphasized the deep integration of philanthropy and technology to drive sustainable economic and social development in Timor-Leste. Boris Tadić, of Serbia and AB Chain Compliance Overseer, added that the resort will showcase blockchain-driven innovation and become a global hub for industry collaboration and talent exchange, positioning Timor-Leste as a model for future blockchain empowerment.

The resort complex will feature luxury hotels and villas, innovation offices, training centers, conference and exhibition facilities, a yacht club, marine experience zone, and a digital-nomad village. It will open its doors to blockchain enterprises and communities worldwide, with plans to host technology labs, incubators, and industry conferences, accelerating real-world adoption and ecosystem growth. AB DAO and the Government of Timor-Leste will collaborate closely, supported by on-chain philanthropy and decentralized governance, to upgrade local infrastructure and cultivate talent. As a flagship initiative of the AB Charity Foundation, Timor-Leste AB Resort will inject new energy into blockchain development and set a benchmark for the fusion of blockchain technology and tourism.

AB Resort will allocate 5%–10% of its annual net profits to the AB Charity Foundation’s funding pool, reflecting AB DAO's commitment to advancing blockchain technology and philanthropic initiatives. The resort's development underscores AB DAO's ongoing strategic priorities and its dedication to leveraging technology for social and economic impact.
