TikTok has partnered with YouTube creator MrBeast to launch a charity initiative aimed at raising $40 million for water supply projects worldwide. The "Team Water" project, led by MrBeast, aims to fund sustainable water solutions for remote communities. This initiative follows the success of MrBeast's previous charity projects, "Team Trees" and "Team Seas," which collectively raised over $50 million [2].
The campaign, which will run until August 31, 2025, is powered by a global coalition of content creators from over 84 countries with a combined audience of 2 billion followers. TikTok will support the campaign by donating $1.5 million and enabling users to contribute via a new #TeamWater Donation Sticker. The funding will go towards long-term sustainable water solutions, including solar-powered wells and gravity-fed pipelines [3].
According to Kelly Parsons, CEO of WaterAid America, the partnership combines the power of influential content creators with WaterAid's decades of on-the-ground experience to tackle the global water crisis. "Every dollar raised will fund long-term, sustainable water solutions," Parsons said [2].
The campaign launch is scheduled for 12pm ET / 9am PT on MrBeast's and Mark Rober's YouTube channels. To learn more about #TeamWater and donate, visit teamwater.org.
