Tetra Tech, Inc. (TTEK) has been awarded a significant contract by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to enhance energy access in 18 West African countries. The Power Africa Empower West Africa initiative aims to connect millions of people to reliable electricity for economic growth through sustainable energy transition [1].

Under this single-award contract, Tetra Tech will design and implement national electrification programs and deploy sustainable energy technologies. The company will also modernize transmission and distribution utilities and stimulate energy investments [2]. TTEK's professionals will collaborate with governments, development finance institutions, and the private sector to foster a transition to more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient energy sectors.

Tetra Tech's expertise in providing high-end consulting, design, and engineering services has led to a series of recent contracts. In March 2024, the company secured a $375 million multiple-award contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for environmental restoration and compliance services. In January 2024, TTEK received a $34 million contract from USAID to support the Integrated Land and Resource Governance II project and a $24 million, single-award deal to conserve biodiversity and natural resources in Cambodia [2].

The Power Africa Empower West Africa initiative is part of Tetra Tech's 10-year collaboration with Power Africa. This collaboration aims to connect millions of people to reliable electricity, contributing to economic growth in the region [1]. TTEK's shares have gained 19.9% year-to-date, outpacing the industry's 13.4% growth [2].
