Tesla (TSLA.US) addresses the recall of 239,000 vehicles through a software update.

Tesla (TSLA.US) conducted a wireless software update as part of a recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of 239,382 vehicles. The update aimed to address a potential short circuit in the computer circuit board that could cause the rear view camera image to be lost. The recall covered 2024-2025 Model 3, Model S, 2023-2025 Model X, and 2023-2025 Model Y vehicles equipped with certain onboard computers running software versions earlier than 2024.44.25.3 or 2024.45.25.6. As of December 30, 2024, Tesla confirmed 887 warranty claims and 68 field reports related to the condition. The company said it was not aware of any crashes, injuries, or deaths related to the situation. Affected vehicles began receiving the software update on December 18, which changes the vehicle's power-up sequence to prevent a short circuit in the main and/or secondary power components. Owners of affected vehicles with software versions 2024.44.25.3, 2024.45.25.6, or higher do not need to take any further action. Tesla said it is actively investigating which affected vehicles (if any) experienced the pressure that could have caused the short circuit.
