Tesla has officially unveiled the revamped Model Y, with the starting price set at RMB 263,500. The new model incorporates several enhancements in design, interior features, and performance. The exterior showcases a distinctive connected headlight design, differentiating it from previous versions. Inside, the vehicle embraces a minimalist style while upgrading features such as seat heating, ventilation, and electric adjustments. Notably, the updated Model Y can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and boasts an extended driving range by more than 30 kilometers.
The latest Model Y is available in two configurations: a rear-wheel-drive version and a long-range all-wheel-drive version. Both versions have seen a price increase compared to their predecessors. However, with deliveries anticipated to commence in March, prospective buyers can expect swift availability. The rear-wheel-drive version starts at RMB 263,500, while the long-range all-wheel-drive variant is offered at RMB 303,500.
Significant exterior modifications include a reimagined front fascia featuring connected lighting and C-shaped fog lamp designs. The side profile retains elements such as hidden door handles and frameless doors, with new 19-inch or 20-inch wheel options. The rear mirrors the front with updated light fixtures incorporating diffuse reflection technology, along with a redesigned rear bumper. A new Glacier Blue exterior paint offers a fresh aesthetic, accompanied by exclusive badges and projection lights for the launch edition.
Inside, the Model Y's cabin has been refined for simplicity and functionality, with new controls replacing traditional gear levers and a completely redesigned steering wheel. It retains a 15-inch infotainment screen enhanced by ambient lighting. Added comforts include ventilated seats and a screen for rear passengers. Tesla has also improved seating functions and introduced side blind-spot imaging. The vehicle is equipped with Tesla's most advanced AI 4 automated driving hardware.
Regarding performance, the Model Y offers options between a single motor and a dual motor setup, with maximum power outputs of 220 kW and 331 kW respectively. The rear-wheel-drive version provides a driving range of approximately 593 kilometers, while the long-range model stretches to 719 kilometers, as per the CLTC estimates. The suspension system has been reengineered to improve vibration filtration by 15%, enhancing ride comfort.
