Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) has reported significant milestones in its Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) program, particularly in Australia and New Zealand. According to a recent post on Tesla's official social media handle for the region, owners have collectively driven over 621,371 miles (approximately 1 million kilometers) in just two weeks since the launch of the supervised FSD service. This distance is equivalent to 67 laps around Australia .The news comes as Tesla recently expanded its supervised FSD service to the region, following rumors that emerged a month ago. Meanwhile, the company has also been conducting FSD testing operations in Japan, showcasing the technology's capabilities in navigating busy city streets .
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, hinted at a potential update for the FSD system that would allow Tesla vehicles to navigate multi-level parking garages using the car's Summon function. Musk's recent pay package also includes a condition that Tesla must have over 10 million active FSD subscriptions for him to receive a tranche of the compensation award .
Separately, Tesla rival Xiaomi Auto has delivered more than 40,000 vehicles in September 2025, as reported by Bloomberg. While Xiaomi Auto's performance is notable, it remains to be seen how it will impact Tesla's market position in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
