The incident occurred as Smith attempted to cut while covering Buffalo wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson. Smith immediately grabbed his left knee after collapsing, and a cart was quickly brought onto the field to transport him off. The Bears ruled Smith out for the remainder of the game, in which he had totaled two tackles.
