TechInsights' analysis of the supply of commodity components in the computing industry found semiconductor lead times have stabilized at 14 weeks for the past four quarters, including Q3 2024. TechInsights' component price landscape (CPL) study, which surveyed more than two dozen companies that supply the computing industry, found memory component lead times contracted 21% sequentially (or three weeks). Memory component lead times have typically been longer than the computing industry average since Q3 2022, but contracted to 12 weeks in Q3 2024, two weeks faster than the average.

While the overall average lead times were similar to the previous quarter, some computing component areas saw extended lead times in Q3 2024, including RF semiconductor ICs (+9%) and embedded processors and controllers (+9%), while memory (-21%) and circuit protection components (-12%) suppliers achieved shorter lead times than the previous quarter.
