Takeda Pharmaceutical Reports Q2 Loss, Cuts FY22 Guidance

Takeda Pharmaceutical reported a Q2 net loss of ¥11.8 billion ($77.3 million), compared to a net profit of ¥92.0 billion in the previous year. Revenue dropped 5.4% to ¥1.113 trillion. The company cut its annual earnings forecasts, projecting a 1.8% decline in revenue to ¥4.500 trillion and a 42% increase in net profit to ¥153.00 billion. The lowered views are partly due to impairment charges from strategic pipeline decisions.
