Takeda Pharmaceutical and Kyoto University have ended a 10-year research project on induced pluripotent stem cells, having developed talent and foundational technologies but no new drugs that reached practical use. The collaboration aimed to create new treatments for diseases using iPS cells, but despite significant progress, no commercially viable drugs were developed.
