The DeskEats launch is part of Swiggy’s ongoing efforts to engage with the corporate sector. In early 2025, Swiggy rolled out a corporate rewards program for employees across 14,000 organizations, aimed at increasing engagement among office workers. The program reports strong interest from this demographic, with 150,000 employees joining within three months [3]. Additionally, in October 2024, Swiggy launched the Swiggy Seal initiative across 650 cities to enhance the food quality standards and hygiene practices of its restaurant partners [4].
Data from the pilot phase of DeskEats has revealed some interesting consumption trends. In the Stress Munchies category, Chicken Popcorn was the most popular choice in Bengaluru, Fries were favoured in Mumbai, and Garlic Breadsticks found favour in Gurugram. Salads dominated the Healthy Nibbles category across all cities [1, 2, 3]. Notably, Mumbai emerged as the leading city for DeskEats usage, and the One-handed Grabbies collection, designed for easy, no-cutlery consumption, accounted for nearly 30% of total DeskEats orders, signaling a demand for efficiency over elaborate meals [2, 3].
The initiative builds on Swiggy’s ongoing focus on workplace consumption. Deepak Maloo, Vice President – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, stated, “Today’s corporate professionals are more time-strapped and choice-rich than ever before. With the launch of DeskEats, we’ve reimagined how food delivery fits into a busy, high-performance workday” [2].
