Swedish business consortium to build AI factory with Nvidia

A significant milestone in Sweden's AI infrastructure development was announced on May 24, 2025, as a Swedish business consortium, in partnership with NVIDIA, unveiled plans to build a new AI facility. The consortium, comprising AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab, SEB, and Wallenberg Investments, aims to establish a cutting-edge AI infrastructure to transform and prepare the country’s leading industries for the age of AI.

The initiative, spearheaded by Wallenberg Investments, will see the deployment of two NVIDIA DGX SuperPODs featuring NVIDIA’s latest generation Grace Blackwell GB300 systems. This will make it the largest enterprise AI supercomputer in Sweden once operational. The system will be used to run compute-heavy AI workloads, including training domain-specific AI models and large-scale inference, such as reasoning AI.

Marcus Wallenberg, Chair of Wallenberg Investments, highlighted the importance of investing in advanced AI infrastructure, stating, “This initiative will generate valuable spillover effects—by enabling upskilling, fostering new collaborations, and strengthening the broader national AI ecosystem.” Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that AI is the engine of the next industrial revolution.

NVIDIA's involvement in the project includes plans to establish its first AI Technology Center in Sweden. This center will advance world-class AI research and offer access to NVIDIA’s experts and hands-on Deep Learning Institute training to upskill AI talent. AstraZeneca will use the system for AI-enabled drug discovery, Ericsson for developing state-of-the-art AI models, Saab for accelerating defense capabilities, and SEB for enhancing productivity and customer offerings.

The Swedish business consortium and NVIDIA aim to drive new AI innovation by building AI competence across industries and fostering knowledge sharing. The initiative underscores Sweden’s commitment to becoming a global leader in AI technology, securing its place at the forefront of the AI era.
