Strategy's CEO Sells 34% of Shares in June, Insider Sales Top $13.6 Million

Strategy's CEO Phong Le has sold 8,400 shares of Class A stock, which constitutes approximately 34% of his directly held shares, according to recent filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This transaction occurred in June. Following this sale, Le still holds 16,390 shares, along with 6,000 and 4,500 shares of two preferred stock series, “Strife” and “Stride,” respectively. The total value of insider sales at Strategy over the past month amounts to $13.6 million, with no insider buying reported during this period.

The selling activity is not confined to the CEO alone. Other executives and board members, including VP & CAO Jeanine Montgomery, EVP & General Counsel Wei-Ming Shao, CFO Andrew Kang, and board members Carl Rickertsen and Jarrod Patten, have also engaged in similar transactions. Rickertsen sold 26,390 shares, which represents over 75% of his holdings, for more than $9.8 million. Patten sold 9,550 shares, approximately 60% of his stake, for over $3.5 million.

Despite the significant insider selling, many long-term holders view these transactions as routine and not indicative of broader concerns. The volumes sold are relatively small compared to Strategy’s overall market capitalization and have not resulted in substantial price drops. In fact, MSTR stock has appreciated by 32.55% over the past year, outperforming the broader market. The company is also close to holding 600,000 BTC, positioning it as the largest corporate owner of Bitcoin in the world.

The insider selling has not deterred bullish investors, who remain optimistic about Strategy’s future. The company continues to ride a wave of positive sentiment in the crypto market, driven by a bold vision for Bitcoin. This optimism is further bolstered by the company’s strategic investments and its leadership in the corporate adoption of Bitcoin.
