Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Could Propel It to Top Publicly Traded Equity

Strategy, a prominent corporate holder of Bitcoin, has been highlighted by an analyst as having the potential to become the top publicly traded equity in the market. According to Jeff Walton, an analyst, Strategy's financial strength, bolstered by its substantial Bitcoin holdings, could propel it to the top of the market. The company currently holds approximately 568,840 Bitcoin, valued at around $59 billion, which Walton believes gives it a significant advantage over other publicly listed firms.

Walton emphasized that Strategy possesses more of the best assets and the most pristine collateral on the planet than any other company. He also pointed to the firm's ability to rapidly raise capital as another indicator of its strength. In November 2024, Strategy successfully raised $12 billion in just 50 days, a feat Walton described as remarkable. "It’s incredibly hard to raise $100 million of capital, and they just raised $100 million of capital 120 times in 50 days, and they were able to buy Bitcoin with that capital. That’s insane," Walton said.

In a recent documentary, Michael Saylor, the CEO of Strategy, also expressed optimism about the company's future. Saylor believes that Strategy's adoption of Bitcoin positions it for significant growth, potentially transforming it from a $100 billion enterprise to a $1 trillion enterprise, and eventually to a $10 trillion enterprise. Saylor's bullish outlook extends to Bitcoin itself, predicting that the cryptocurrency could reach a price of $13 million per coin by 2045. He also forecasted that Bitcoin could reach $1 million per coin within the next decade, with the potential to increase tenfold or more in the following 20 years.

Walton's prediction comes at a time when Strategy is ranked as the 151st largest company in the world by market capitalization, which stands at $117 billion. To surpass Microsoft, the current leader with a market cap exceeding $3.3 trillion, Strategy would need to achieve substantial growth. However, according to the analyst's forecast, Strategy's Bitcoin holdings and its ability to raise capital quickly position it well for future success.
