Strategy Adds 15,355 Bitcoin Worth $1.42 Billion, Boosts Holdings to 553,555 BTC
Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategyMSTR--, has recently made a significant addition to its Bitcoin holdings. The company, led by its founder and former CEO Michael Saylor, announced the acquisition of 15,355 Bitcoin (BTC) worth approximately $1,420,000,000. This purchase was made at an average price of around $92,737 per Bitcoin. As of April 27, 2025, Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings stand at 553,555 BTC, acquired for approximately $37.90 billion at an average price of $68,459 per Bitcoin. The company has achieved a Bitcoin yield of 13.7% year-to-date in 2025.
Saylor highlighted that Strategy's Bitcoin buying strategy has been successful, allowing the company to outperform other top-tier companies this year. He shared a chart illustrating that while other companies experienced losses, Strategy posted gains over the past three months. Saylor's strategy of accumulating Bitcoin has historically resulted in significant gains, with over 38% in profits, or $14 billion, from previous purchases. He emphasized the importance of staying humble and continuing to accumulate Bitcoin, using the phrase "Stay Humble. Stack sats."
The latest Bitcoin purchase is part of a planned buying spree announced earlier this year. In early February, Strategy announced a massive stock offering to raise funds for accumulating more Bitcoin. In March, Saylor revealed that the company sold $21 billion in preferred STRK stock to purchase additional coins. According to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net, Strategy currently owns 2.56% of the global circulating BTC supply. Despite the recent purchase, Strategy's stock is down 2.7%, trading at $358 at the time of writing.
