Founded in 1936, The St. Joe Company owns land, timber and resort assets primarily in Northwest Florida, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. The Company owns land, trees and resorts primarily in and around the Jacksonville and Tallahassee areas of Northwest Florida and North Florida. The company seeks higher and better utilization of these assets through a series of activities ranging from forestry to strategic land planning and development, infrastructure improvement and promoting economic development in the regions where it operates. The Company currently operates in five reportable operating segments: (1) residential real estate; (2) commercial real estate; (3) resort, leisure and leasing businesses; (4) forestry and (5) rural land.
