New Germany Fund Inc was incorporated under the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended (the "1940 Act ") and was incorporated in Maryland on January 16, 1990 as a non-diversified closed-end management investment company. The Fund began its investment business on January 30, 1990. The fund became a diversified fund on October 26, 2007.
