IntroductionDistribution and Marketing Company of the North S.A. was established on July 21, 1992 under the name Empresa Distribuidora Norte Sociedad Anonima as part of the privatized Argentine state-owned electricity utility. Northern S.A. Distribution and Marketing considers it the largest electricity distribution company in Argentina and the largest in Latin America in terms of customers and electricity sales in 2012. The Company has exclusive concessions to distribute electricity to the Buenos Aires metropolitan area in the northwest and to the north of the city of Buenos Aires.
