The Central and Eastern Europe Fund, Inc., is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company incorporated in Maryland. The fund began investment operations on March 6, 1990. The Fund aims to seek long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity or equity-linked securities of issuers in Central and Eastern Europe. Under normal circumstances, the Fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowings for investment purposes) in securities of issuers registered in Central and Eastern Europe. The fund can also invest 20% of its total asset value in shares or equity-linked securities of issuers registered elsewhere in Europe.
