Banco BBVA Argentina S.A., an Argentine company, was officially incorporated on October 14, 1886 under the name Banco Frances del Rio de la Plata S.A. It was one of the first companies to list on the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange (now ByMA). It is a subsidiary of Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.a., and has been its major shareholder since 1996. In Argentina, it is one of the leading private financial institutions since 1886. Nationally, it offers retail and corporate banking to a broad customer base, including individuals, SMEs and large companies.
