Apple Hospitality Reit, Inc., is a proprietary Caretrust Reit (" Caretrust Reit ") that invests in income-generating real estate, primarily in the lodging industry, in the United States. The Company has a wholly-owned taxable REIT subsidiary, which leases the Company's owned hotels, from a wholly-owned qualified Caretrust Reit subsidiary. The hotel operates and is managed with 16 hotel management companies, which do not participate in independent management agreements with the company. The company was established in November 2007.
