Quantum BioPharma Ltd. was established on November 1, 1998. Pursuant to the terms of the amendment, on May 24, 2018, the Company changed its name to "FSD Pharma Inc.". The Company operates two business segments: one focuses on biological sciences, including research and development (" R&D ") and clinical development of synthetic cannabinoid-based treatments for certain diseases, with the aim of improving patient outcomes. Their goal is for these compounds to eventually be approved as prescription drugs by the FDA and other international regulators. Another division focuses on the production and extraction of high-quality hydroponic pharmaceutical-grade cannabis leaves. The common denominator between the two sectors is the medicinal cannabis plant and its derived cannabinoids.
