Ames National Corporation was established on January 21, 1975. The Company is an Iowa corporation and bank holding company incorporated under the Bank Holding Company Act, as amended in 1956. The Company owns 100% of six banking subsidiaries, including one national bank and five state-chartered banks. All of the Company's operations are conducted in Iowa, primarily in Boone, Clark, Hancock, Marshall, Polk, Storey, Taylor and Union counties in Central, North and South Central Iowa, where the Company's banking subsidiary is located. The Company does not engage in any significant business activities other than owning bank subsidiaries and managing its own loan portfolio.
