American Airlines Group Inc., a holding company, is registered in Delaware, and its wholly-owned subsidiaries include American Airlines (American) and US Airways Group (US Airways Group), also registered in Delaware. AAG was founded in 1982 as AMR Corporation (AMR), the parent company of American Corporation (AMR) founded in 1934. Their main business is to operate a large network operator, providing regular air transportation for passengers and cargo. As an airline operated by American Eagle, its wholly-owned subsidiary and third-party regional airline, approximately 215 million passengers boarded an average of 6,800 flights per day to 365 destinations in 61 countries through its hubs and gates in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Washington, DC in 2019. In 2019, they launched a new seasonal nonstop service from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to the transatlantic markets of Dubrovnik, Croatia and Berlin, Germany.
