Steven Miller Joins Monumental Sports as CFO Amid Capital One Arena Revamp Initiative
Monumental Sports & Entertainment has announced the appointment of Steven Miller as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective October 2, 2025. Miller, who joins from Warby ParkerWRBY--, where he served as Chief Financial Officer since 2011, will report directly to Ted Leonsis, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE).
Throughout his tenure at Warby Parker, Miller was instrumental in overseeing the eyewear retailer's financial strategy, including multiple funding rounds and its successful direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange in September 2021. Miller's track record at Warby Parker showcases his expertise in navigating complex financial landscapes, which he is expected to bring to MSE as it embarks on a multiyear renovation of the Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, D.C.
Miller succeeds Peter Biché, who will transition to a Senior Advisor role after 25 years at MSE. In his new role, Miller will lead the finance organization of MSE, overseeing corporate real estate, controllership, enterprise-wide financial planning, tax, treasury functions, and supporting corporate development initiatives. Under his leadership, MSE seeks to continue its growth and operational excellence while optimizing its business platform across the sports and media-entertainment industry.

Miller’s previous roles include executive positions at Majestic Research and ComericaCMA-- Bank’s Technology and Life Sciences Division. His expertise is anticipated to contribute significantly to MSE’s efforts to navigate and drive value creation in the evolving media-entertainment landscape.
MSE's approach to the RSN market and its recent joint product offering with streaming company ViewLift are among the areas Miller plans to explore, leveraging his financial insights to advance MSE’s strategic ambitions. His appointment underscores MSE’s commitment to integrating financial discipline with innovative solutions to enhance investor relations and foster growth.
Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Columbia University and serves on several boards, including the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and the Ubuntu Education Fund. His professional journey highlights his adaptability and strategic vision, which he intends to channel into his new role at MSE. As Biché transitions to a Senior Advisor, MSE is expected to benefit from Miller’s fresh perspectives and financial acumen as it continues its expansion and transformation endeavors.
