Stellantis, a prominent global automotive manufacturer, announced its first-quarter global delivery volume for 2025, which stood at 1.2 million vehicles. This figure represents a 9% year-over-year decline, primarily due to production disruptions in North America caused by an extended holiday period in January. Additionally, the company's strategic shift towards increasing the production of hybrid vehicles has led to delays in its European operations.
In North America,
delivered approximately 82,000 vehicles, marking a 20% year-over-year decrease. In Europe, the delivery volume was around 47,000 vehicles, down 8% year-over-year. These declines highlight the challenges Stellantis faces in balancing production schedules with its strategic initiatives to enhance hybrid vehicle offerings.Despite the overall decrease in delivery volumes, Stellantis maintained strong sales momentum for several key models in the U.S. market. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and Ram 1500/2500 models all saw year-over-year sales growth exceeding 10%. In the EU30 market, Stellantis' market share increased to 17.3%, up 1.9 percentage points from the previous quarter.
The company made significant commercial progress in the first quarter of 2025. The launch of new models such as the Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Frontera, Fiat Grande Panda, and Ram Heavy Duty trucks boosted order volumes. Stellantis also managed to keep dealer inventory levels within normal ranges.
Stellantis' "Third Engine" business segment, which focuses on commercial vehicles, saw a 4% increase in delivery volumes. This growth was primarily driven by a 19% surge in the South American market, particularly in Brazil and Argentina, which helped offset declines in the Middle East, Africa, China, India, and the Asia-Pacific region.
In South America, the overall industry delivery volume increased, solidifying Stellantis' leadership position in the region. However, the Middle East and Africa region experienced a 15% decline in delivery volumes, largely due to import restrictions in Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt.
