Stellantis has been served a default notice by the Canadian government after moving Jeep production to the US. The government had pledged over $358 million in taxpayer-backed financial aid to Stellantis, which canceled plans to produce the Jeep Compass in Brampton, Ontario, and invested $13 billion in the US to mitigate tariff costs. The move affects about 3,000 unionized workers on layoff and many others whose jobs depend on supplying the factory with parts.
